ReChive, a new way to manage documents

The story of the ambitious creativity of individuals and their subsequent achievements remains one of the most inspirational narratives of our modern society.

Our quality of life has vastly improved compared to previous generations, largely thanks to the creativity, resilience, and problem-solving of talented, and hard-working individuals.

Yet, the creativity that benefits us all comes paired with an unavoidable reality: administration. The tedious process of organizing documents, numbers, and records that contributes nothing directly to a product or service, yet remains indispensable. The history of ambitious creators and doers is inevitably entangled with their frustration toward administrative burdens. People dream of creation, not administration.

At Vieolo, our small contribution to the continuous progress of humankind is to help reshape how the administrative side of business is handled, removing a considerable obstacle for the problem-solvers of the future. At this stage of our journey, we chose to focus on one of the most fundamental challenges businesses and individuals face: managing the growing number of documents they send, receive, and need to store efficiently, often for years to come.

How We Got Here

As humans, we naturally form mental maps of our records, and those records are typically associated with the person or organization we interacted with.

While cloud storage and physical drives are widely available, one crucial factor is frequently overlooked: documents are rarely created in isolation; they are sent or received.

We don't think of an invoice as "Invoice no. 1636672". We recall it as "the invoice XYZ sent me." Our minds organize information through relationships, not through static, arbitrary names and numbers. This idea became increasingly apparent through our earlier private prototypes and small-scale deployments.

But we didn't set out to simply recreate an inbox. An online platform with a document and a sender's name is not enough. Each document type serves a distinct purpose and demands its own management tools. The mere act of storing a file in a digital folder is no longer sufficient for a productive and efficient workflow.

Introducing ReChive

After multiple iterations and over a year of active development, I am proud to announce the launch of ReChive, the document management module within Vieolo.

ReChive has been carefully designed from the ground up, not only to address the needs our clients expressed, but to provide the very tool I always wished I had, for both personal and professional use.

In ReChive, every document represents a communication. Echoing our intuitive mental mapping, you organize documents based on the human interactions behind them, not by memorizing arbitrary folder names on a hard drive.

Of course, ReChive is far more than an online storage solution. It integrates every document into the broader context of your business or personal life. ReChive understands that different documents require different workflows, an invoice is inherently different from a bureaucratic acknowledgement, and your system should reflect that.

Whether you're a member or the owner of a workspace, you can collaborate effortlessly with others to stay organized and efficient. And importantly, you're free to create, own, or participate in as many workspaces as you need.

A core pillar of Vieolo's mission to modernize administration is universal accessibility. Your data should not be confined to a specific device, location, or platform.

With ReChive, we've gone to great lengths to deliver a seamless experience across all major devices and operating systems. ReChive is available as part of Vieolo on the web, and as a native, standalone app on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and completing our cross-platform offering, Android.

ReChive works with your existing Vieolo account and subscription, offering the same generous free tier provided across Vieolo's services. For added convenience, premium subscriptions can be purchased through both ReChive's mobile apps and the web platform.

Our work on ReChive is far from finished, in fact, it's only just beginning.
